Kristin Cavalari to make $63,000 per epsiode on The Hills

Just saw a report on this last night. What? This girl is only "famous" because her family is rich and she was on Laguna Beach (which I never watched)- a show that followed rich kids around. This kind of stuff infuriates me!

Kristin seems to think she's the big woman on campus these days, acting however she pleases. Maybe it's because of the exorbitant amount of money she's being paid to star in the upcoming season of The Hills. According to Life & Style, Kristin is making $63,000 an episode, which is just $2000 less than what Lauren Conrad was banking each week.

Thanks Scott for clearing up the facts. Still- $63000 per episode is ridiculous. We have to boycott this show or if you are going to watch- please wait a little for the rerun so it won't count towards the premiere ratings!

Oh c'mon now...who on God's green earth can possibly avoid a group of moderately attractive girls (minus Whitney Port...she was actually really pretty) who all obviously go to the same hair stylist, wear the same brand sunglasses, think that a long shirt counts as a dress, have the same flat tone to their voices, frequent only 10 night clubs, spend money frivolously on D&G and apparently only sleep with the same group of 4 or 5 guys passing them around like Twizzlers at a slumber party? I know I can't!!! Bring on the self absorbed, social climbing SLAGS!!!!

But seriously, I'm not surprised she's making $63,000. Being on the show is her job. It's just like any other job, except hers is on television. That's how I look at it.

Since when does salary have anything to do with merit in the entertainment industry? That show she's on makes however many millions for its network/production company/whatever, and as the...star, I suppose, she gets a share of that for her contribution. If she wasn't getting that money the corporations making the show would be hanging onto it. Are they really that much more deserving?

Danmag I find it hilarious that you remember the names of all those kids from Laguna!!! It used to upset me that I graduated the same year as them (2004) and me and my friends didn't get a damn show. Although I don't think too many people would have tuned in for "Aberdeen: The Real Harford County" where middle class suburban Maryland kids drive around and go to Taco Bell in their mom's mini van instead of a Maserati. It doesn't really have a nice ring to it.

I'm afraid to say this, but I LOVED Laguna Beach (mostly because of Kristin). My life was complete with every shriek of "STEEEEEPHHHEEEEEN!" And remember Alex and her show business aspirations, which were hilarious due to her lack of talent? I thought Lauren was painfully, abysmally boring, thus making The Hills a stupid concept. I'm going to have to practice some major self-control to not watch it now that my favorite whiny blonde bitch is on.

Oh, Jag. Just give in to it. I forgot about Alex, but that reminded me of that bleached blonde idiot who was the even-richer new girl in town. She used to have her maid serve them quesadillas....

I loved that show too, Jag. All those chicks are going to grow up to be the Real Housewives of Orange County 2020.

I've never seen the Hills, and only saw Laguna Beach a few times when nothing else was on.

Wasn't there a kid named Deiter on there? My husband was always joking that he wanted to name Henry Deiter when I was pregnant. Then when that show was on, he was like "SEE? IT'S A COOL NAME!!"

After Laguna was canceled did anyone watch that god awful excuse for reality TV Newport Beach which is apparently right down the road from Laguna? Even though it was completely horrendous I still watched it. Everything that's launched after Laguna I've unabashedly watched while biting my nails. It's my cocaine.
