I've already said too much concerning my feelings about religious people, so no need to rehash it here. But I will say that I think it's important when those who subscribe speak openly and bluntly from that perspective.
"It just kills me. It absolutely kills me that my people, if you will,Christians, which has such an awful connotation nowadays, I'd just rather say Jesus-lovers, say that because you're this way, you're going to hell. I swear to you, in the Bible I cannot find it anywhere. And I have looked! And my mother - who has a direct line to God - can't find it either! And I'm going to tell you something right now: We all sin. But I don't believe being gay is a sin. What if being short were a sin? What would I do?!
I would be on the first train down to hell! I'm short. It's the way God made me. That's the best example I have to offer.
Just always be yourself. All the way. All the time. And then some. Because, it's not always going to be pretty or happy, but it is going to be alive and true. And I think that whatever makes you different makes you special."

Her brand of Christianity is easier to swallow, even if all the talk of granny sitting next to god DOES wig me out a bit.
Real Christians must think SHE's going to hell, though.

PRS - I think that's why her appearance at one of their big women's gathering was cancelled.
And yet, she still speaks what's in her heart.
Kind of like Miss California, but it doesn't involve keeping rights away from anybody.

Well, if every Christian thought, behaved, and spoke out like Chenoweth, I probably wouldn't find the whole racket as cringeworthy as I do.
But I do like her a lot. And I respected her for disowning her appearance on the 700 Club.

I have to say this makes me lover her just that much more, too. I've been having the exact same conversation (and or arguments) with people lately, too. Do I consider myself a Christian yes. I think it's absolutely ludacris to behave or think the way that so many insanely judgemental (ohhh wait...I thought only God can judge...that's what ya'll keep saying isn't it?) "Christians" are you using their religion as a weapon to oppress people and to control them. I can't wrap my mind around the homosexuality is a sin thing for the life of me. And you know what...I don't want to.
This is the second time in my life that I've ended up pretty much leaving the church because of my stance vs their stance on homosexuality. God and I will do just fine on our own, thanks.

All I know is that me and my god go out and do tequila shots once a week.
Do you know how hard it is to beat god in a jello-shot contest?
Dude can down like a thousand of those things and feel nothing.

So that's his trick! El bastardo!
But then I wonder why? It's not like he can get drunk, he's god.
But then, what if god decreed that god should indeed get drunk.
Even though technically he can't.
My head is gonna explode!
See, this is another example of why religion sucks.*
