So the new French film version is garnering praise from all the crits, so I'm excited. It won't have the spank-fest that is the wrestling scene from WOMEN IN LOVE, but still it ought to be fun.
Anyone else a fan of Lawrence? I love THE RAINBOW and WOMEN IN LOVE the best. He's so...unhinged and over the top.

Posted: 6/21/07 at 9:13ami still fondly recall the softcore versions that were broadcast on cinemax late at night during my youth...lady chatterly's lover, young lady chahtterly, lady chatterly's back-door gangbang, lady chatterly in no man's land, lady chatterly's gag-fest, lady chatterly's in charge and who could forget lady chatterly does farmer's daughters in tuscany strap-on style?

Ah, yes. That and the EMMANUELLE clones.
The one and only Sylvia Kristel did a LADY CHATTERLEY that had the absolutely scrumptious, late Nicholas Clay (who also showed his bonny bare ass in EXCALIBUR as Lancelot) doing some serious full frontal.

Posted: 6/21/07 at 2:15pmI absolutely LOVED The Rainbow when I read it two years ago, so I wanted to explore Laurence's work more, but then I absolutely couldn't stand Women in Love. I don't get it.

I read Lady Chatterley's Lover (who knows which of the 3 versions) when I was 15, and I never really needed a sex ed class after that. This was after the censorship dispute.
I buy a copy for a gift when someone sends me a high school graduation announcement. Its something that continues the educational process. I have never had any complaints.

Posted: 6/21/07 at 3:35pmI saw an exquite stage version years back. The novel's text was trimmed down and the actors often spoke in the third person. It made what would have been soft-core porn moments into moments of deep feeling and connection. I loved it.
