Posted: 7/26/09 at 4:48pmYeah, I really hate it when people decide to keep doing something they love, but they are only one of the best 3 in the world at it, instead of the very best. That Lance sure is an idiot.

people decide to keep doing something they love
esp when they make alot of $$ for it!
Seriously, he charges a fortune for his speaking engagements, charity based or not. Activities like showing "he's still got it!" in bike racing help to keep his name branded and recognized and keeps those fees acomin'.
I seem to recall Sugar Ray Leonard trying a similar "comeback" w similar results.

All's fair in love and cycling, apparently:
"MADRID (AP)?Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong are sniping again after a fragile truce during the Tour de France.
Contador, who secured his second Tour win on Sunday in Paris, said he had no admiration for the American as a person and tensions between the two had a negative effect on the Astana team. Armstrong, the seven-time champion who finished third in his first Tour since 2005, responded that Contador should ?drop this drivel.?
?My relationship with Lance Armstrong is zero,? Contador said late Monday in his hometown of Pinto outside Madrid. ?He?s a great rider and he did a great Tour. Another thing is on a personal level, where I have never admired him and never will.?

It was a particularly frosty scene on the winner's podium. I'm sure Team Astana would have been the life of the party in that peloton.
