Series was on during the spy craze. It lasted one season & I remember my father loved it
The curiosity is that it is played for laughs as the entire cast is made up of chimps. Have not seen it since the sixties & just got it for a relatively inexpensive price. It should be good for a few laughs
I also found out that Fractured Flickers with Hans Conreid (remember him) is now out on DVD as well

Posted: 12/7/06 at 8:59pmIn the 30's, there was a little movie called "The Little Covered Wagon" an all chimpanzee western. I have not seen it anywhere but its companion piece "The Terror Of Tiny Town " is out. It is the first & last all midget musical western. It must be seen to be believed

Who didn't watch Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp? And as I recall, it was from the '70s, not the '60s. And the way you can tell, is that in all kids shows post 1969, the stars also had to ALSO be a rock band, after The Archies scored the #1 Billboard single of 1970.
And Lancelot's band was The Evolution Revolution.

Posted: 12/7/06 at 11:32pmThere's nothing to be impressed about. For one thing, I was about nine years old. And even then I felt it was just a bit too young for me. How old were you when it debuted?

Posted: 12/7/06 at 11:33pmA few years ago they tried a very similar series of short films with monkeys acting out popular films. I think it was for TBS Maybe? They did an all-mokey Titanic and maybe Mission Impossible? They had none of the charm of the original Lancelot Link. (What a gay name, BTW!)

Roxy, if you have TCM (Tuner Classic Movie) channel, you might be able to see that movie. TCM channel plays all old movies from the 1920's to the 1930's and up. Hope that helps.

I definitely watched it as a kid, too. And it was shown on TV Land about 4 or 5 years ago, when they had their retro Saturday '70s block, around 7AM each weekend. It was freaky, hilarious and really disturbing to see it again!
Weird show. They all looked like they were chewing gum to get their mouths to move like they were talkig... and then they had the same voices from HR Pufnstuf, Wacky Racers, etc. It truly was a "meltdown" show.
