Series was on during the spy craze. It lasted one season & I remember my father loved it

The curiosity is that it is played for laughs as the entire cast is made up of chimps. Have not seen it since the sixties & just got it for a relatively inexpensive price. It should be good for a few laughs

I also found out that Fractured Flickers with Hans Conreid (remember him) is now out on DVD as well

One of the weirdest TV shows ever made. I think only David Lynch's RABBITS tops it.

In the 30's, there was a little movie called "The Little Covered Wagon" an all chimpanzee western. I have not seen it anywhere but its companion piece "The Terror Of Tiny Town " is out. It is the first & last all midget musical western. It must be seen to be believed

My favorite episode was the Great Chicken Stampede. The Russian Spies released a flock of Chicken on the unsuspecting Lancelot and Mata Hairy.

Who didn't watch Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp? And as I recall, it was from the '70s, not the '60s. And the way you can tell, is that in all kids shows post 1969, the stars also had to ALSO be a rock band, after The Archies scored the #1 Billboard single of 1970.

And Lancelot's band was The Evolution Revolution.

Yep, early 70's. Monkeys were all the craze. As a yougnster I didn't miss an episode. I recall being devastated that Lancelot Link was going off the air-- to be replaced by a series called simply "The Monkees." I had high hopes till the first episode ran. Very cruel.

Wasn't Lancelot Link on Nick early on? Seems like I remember watching it and Danger Mouse together.

There's nothing to be impressed about. For one thing, I was about nine years old. And even then I felt it was just a bit too young for me. How old were you when it debuted?

A few years ago they tried a very similar series of short films with monkeys acting out popular films. I think it was for TBS Maybe? They did an all-mokey Titanic and maybe Mission Impossible? They had none of the charm of the original Lancelot Link. (What a gay name, BTW!)

Roxy, if you have TCM (Tuner Classic Movie) channel, you might be able to see that movie. TCM channel plays all old movies from the 1920's to the 1930's and up. Hope that helps.re: Lancelot Link.

I definitely watched it as a kid, too. And it was shown on TV Land about 4 or 5 years ago, when they had their retro Saturday '70s block, around 7AM each weekend. It was freaky, hilarious and really disturbing to see it again!

Weird show. They all looked like they were chewing gum to get their mouths to move like they were talkig... and then they had the same voices from HR Pufnstuf, Wacky Racers, etc. It truly was a "meltdown" show.

I remember it well, too.

Some of those TBS film parodies were pretty funny as well.

AND I just recieved my Fractured Fairy Tales dvd.

And as a kid,I had no idea that Lance's voice was an imitation of Humphrey Bogart.
