Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for an audition song for The Last Five Years. I'm an alto/mezzo soprano and can belt well.
Anything is greatly appreciated, thanks!

while "i'm not afraid of anything" is a good choice style-wise, the audition accompanist may not be familiar with it, in which case it could be a death trap.

True story. Although if it's a JRB show the pianist coud be very good haha.

this is true, and i'm sure they're familiar with TL5Y music (or will be very soon)...but you don't know what other JRB repertoire they might know/not know.
though it is an audition for a JRB show, i'd still stick with the "stay away from JRB" rule
Try "Home Again" from The Scarlet Pimpernel. Big belt song.
hey,im doing this show right now,im playing jamie.I got to a highschool for performing arts.its one of my favourites.I love jason's music.
I sang the old red hills of home and i cant stand still from footloose, there both some favourites of mine that work well with jamies range. If you get two songs id pick something jason robert brown-ish like from parade or songs for a new world then one that shows your range/acting skills. well thats just my opinion..
I might even sing girl in 14g...great range.
cheers
