what the critics say ....
"A riveting story of addiction, destruction and devotion." - CRITIC'S CHOICE - Chicago Reader
"Lusia Strus is potty mouthed and delicious." - Time Out Magazine
"Ferociously honest, fiercely impassioned, starkly funny and deeply moving. Rarely have the terror and wonder of the words "love, honor and cherish" been explored with more heart and soul." - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Chicago Sun Times
"A remarkable show ... a wise and revelatory piece ... poignant and incisive, moving, beautifully performed and both original and distinctive in conception." - HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - Chicago Tribune
"Strus' one woman show is sanguine and truthful where the simplicity of her presentation is welcome, where less is so much more, where an actor shows her talent not by how much she can do but by how subtly and earnestly she permeates and presents the story." - RAVE - Tolucan Times
"A disarming piece of writing." - Pick of the Week - New City Times
"Her masterful text and laser sharp delivery throw more vibrant hues across Steppenwolf's gray garage than the richest Technicolor film ever could." - Chicago Reader
" ... Along comes Lusia Strus, reinvigorating the meaning of "character" in the term character actress." - Best Solo Performance - LA Weekly
"A tall, slim blonde with an allure that suggests 1940's "B" movie stardom and an accent that is pure West Side Chicago." - WBEZ - NPR
"Lusia has a lot of potential." - Sister Celeste - 1st grade teacher, St. Bartholomew Grade School - Chicago
