So... What happened?
This was the best episode! Mariska was amazing. I was so impressed by the reporter's actions.
Washington had it coming.
***SPOILERS***
A bunch of convicts from Louisiana had escaped during Hurricane Katrina.
One man kidnapped three young girls. He was a sex offender. He hitched a ride in a van that had been loaded with chemiclas that a lab tech stole and smuggled up to NY.
The girls tried to run away. 2 of them got hit by a car. The man ran off with the third.
Cops did investigating, found the guy. The guy then died in jail. Turns out he was exposed to anthrax. He had bought the anthrax from the lab tech en route to NY.
The other 2 girls were not exposed. The third girl was because she accidently got hold of the bottle and it broke. She was only exposed from touching it, so she lived. The man died because he inhaled the stuff while cleaning it up.
The FEDS pulled a scam on the police and cleared them out of any proof of there being anthrax.
Olivia (Mariska Hargitay) leaked the info to the tabloids. The Tabloid reporter ended up in prison and would not give her name to the feds even though they refused to let him free until he did, and she told him to give them her name. He refused because he felt it violated freedom of press.
yeah freedom of press. ha ha like that actually exists.
this episode was seriously punch after punch after punch.
theaterbaby, great synopsis. washington does certainly have it coming. i can't believe all that they piled into this one hour episode.
Yeah, but it's a nice thought.
I love SVU! Mariska is a fabulous actress. I also love playing the "find the Broadway actor!" game.
Tonight's episode was definitely a change of pace, very interesting. While I like getting into the character's personal lives, it's refreshing to have an episode that covers more general concerns and related to the public of today. Sometimes I watch an episode and think, "WHAT ARE THEIR WRITERS SMOKING?!" but I think they did a good job with this one.
