Lemons for migraine...uhhm?

My mother just called me and told me that a kid from upstairs (I live in an apartment complex) was coming down with two lemons...and that I was to peel them and to strap the lemon peel to my head in effort to get rid of this chronic (for the last two weeks) migraine for a scholarship interview I have tonight.
Has anybody heard of this cure before? Is it absolutely ludicrous? Sounds like it. But I suppose I'll do it anyway.
I'm just shocked because I've usually heard of these strange remedies before my mom tells me to try them...

If anything, I've heard that citrus can CAUSE migraines, not cure them (ingested citrus, that is, not strapped to the head).
After two weeks of suffering I think I'd be willing to try anything, though.
Hope it works and you feel better.

Not only have I been resting in dark rooms...I've also been wearing ridiculous light-blocking sunglasses, inside and out (when I absolutely MUST go out). And the migraine persists. PLUS I'm nauseous most of the day. Also, if you're wondering, I'm on the computer because I've experimented, and the pain doesn't change with or without it.
I think...I might be a vampire. I only feel slightly better in COMPLETE darkness, which is difficult to achieve in the Sunshine State, I tell ya. I need some electronic complete-darkness blinds like those in The Holiday. Mhm.
Aha! Yes, the nausea might be persisting because I take a garlic pill every night! That would make sense if vampirism is taking over my life.
Meh, I just want to feel better, dangit.
[Edit: I know, Kringas, I've wondered. But the doctor still calls it a migraine.]

Migraines and the flu are two things that people are always claiming to have and 90% of the time they don't.
From what you've described, it does sound like it, though I'm still impressed you're posting on here.
Feel better.

Thank you. =]
See, I hate migraines (which I didn't experience too often before this odd two-week stint I'm having) mostly because they're incredibly painful (duh) and semi-cured mainly by sleeping. Well, a person can only sleep so many hours a day. I try to sleep about every other hour. But I can't fall asleep and wind up extremely frustrated. I can't read or write in the light, for some reason, but I can stand looking at a lit screen. I have no idea what the deal is. I've tried reading AP study books, since I have to take those exams this week and next. Eh, whatever, I go to the neurologist tomorrow. Hopefully something will come of that.
Either that or my fangs will start growing in. (Is that what vampires have? Fangs?)

Are you sure it's a migraine? Given that it's peak allergy season (and the duration of your headache) it might be sinuses. Have you tried Tylenol Sinus?
For true migraines, I'd be hopeless without my Maxalt.
And after two weeks' suffering, you might want to see a doctor rather than a grocer...

TWO WEEKS? And you've seen a doctor? If it is a migraine, Two weeks mest be closing in on a record.
If you haven't seen a doctor, do so. They do have various remedies to offer that would HAVE to work better than a lemon peel

I'm going to a neurologist tomorrow. I've been to a general doctor, who prescribed Zyrtec (for allergies) and Imitrex (a nasal spray for migraines). The Zyrtec decreased the swelling in my face, which excited me, but left the migraines (somewhat lessened). The Imitrex works pretty well, but not for a long period of time.
The lemon peel made my forehead burn with its acidic powers. The burning of my forehead may have momentarily (for about twenty minutes) taken away from the pain within. But that's about it. So much for that home remedy!
I'm depending on this neurologist.

Hah, very much not.
Although I have been having strange cravings...green olives and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, for instance.
