Did the President of the US have any further contact from his Sec. of Defense on 9/11/13 after being informed that the consulate in Benghazi was under attack? Did the President check in at all that night to see how things were going?

Odd. Right wing news has reported Obama watched the attacks on live video feed. Fox has actually reported or discussed that "fact" on 48 separate occasions.

What we are seeing is the old "CYA" in action. The defense department is pointing at the White House (Obama) and State Dept. (Clinton), while the State Dept and White House are pointing at he Defense Dept. What you end up with is everyone pointing the finger at everyone else with no one taking the responsibility. You even have Hillary Clinton screeching, "WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE??"
Hey, Madam Secretary, these people are DEAD!! ANd neither YOU nor the PRESIDENT nor the Panetta did ANYTHING to help these people during that 7 hour attack.
