I just saw an extended trailer for this film. Let me just say that it looks like the most painful "comedy" ever. Not ONE funny joke, obvious, trite and obnoxious. They might as well have called it Meet the Priest. So who is looking forward to this mess?

What happened to when Robin Williams did funny movies?

First he was a comedian. Then he moved to more dark comedies. Then he just went to freaky movies. And now he's back to comedies...but unfunny ones.

Was this movie shot before he went back into rehab? That might explain his old bag of manic tricks.

As soon as I saw that Mandy Moore was in the film, I knew it would flop. No offense to any of her fans, it's just that most of her movies have not done well at the box office. I think Robin Williams is a genius but not all of his films have been great either- especially recently. The trailer looks like the comedy is so forced- I hate that!

For the first time, I really wanted to hit Robin Williams.
None of it was funny. It was all overdone.

The guy playing her fiancee looked like William Youmans (which, please understand, is not meant as an insult..but he does!)

Mandy Moore, as usual, comes acorss whiny.

Blah. I'm glad my friend paid.

I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.

It's sad, becuase I like all the people in it to an extent. I mean, I'm nt a huge fan of Mandy Moore but she's been in decent stuff (Saved! comes to mind) and I've always loved Robin Williams. But this looks awful. Fart jokes and lame MC Hammer references? Come on, I know these cast members can do better than that!

It is at 14% at RT. I love this quote from the cream of the crop reviews: "There's bad, there's awful and there's horrible, and then somewhere beyond that, in its own Kingdom of Lousy -- where all the milk curdles and the jokes aren't funny -- is License to Wed."

When will people stop casting Robin Williams?

We watched him on Larry King last night -- not his best extemporaneous moments, to be sure-- and wondered, Doesn't this man get tons of scripts? Doesn't a certain percentage of a-list projects cross his desk?

Why does he end up in such puerile tripe? The reviews have been singularly scathing, and you have to wonder what goes through his mind.

Does he look for projects that allow him on-set riffing? In other words, on a premise that appeals, so he can do his improv thing? And yet, I hear he's on script 95% of the time.

And what's up with the too-defined rug? On Larry King, it was clear he has a major new top. Why? I thought he had plenty o'hair.

Yes, Auggie, it is just not on top of his head!
I wonder how many A-list scripts he actually gets. I mean you know they pass through MANY hands before someone says, "How about ROBIN?" Deniro? Pacino? Hell, I would bet even Steve Carell gets them before Williams now.

Guys as hairy as Robin Williams are usually bald. Take it from me, it's a MAJOR area of interest and personal research.

The movie got a pretty decent review in my newspaper and I was surprised to see that. But then again, that same critic gave that American Dreams film (Hugh Grant in an American Idol takeoff)a good review and that film was horrible!

There were some funny things about American Dreams, but starting out that film with a boot camp video of a terrorist group offended me so much, I can't even tell you. Certain things aren't funny.

I mean, Denzel Washington? Gun to my head..of course.

This movie was blah. I had the feeling that at some point there may have been an interesting film but between Williams' free association and reediting due to screening comments, it's pretty bad. There are a ton of Office folks with a line or two but the plot is bizarres and pointless-- they created a lot of quirky characters and then just left them sitting there. Williams plays an insane priest- in real life, he'd be arrested. But in this movie people sort of chuckle at his inasnity. Moore has a "best friend" who's an attractive, well educated erudite male and there are maybe 4 implications that there is some sexual attraction between them but the plot goes no where. He's never explained-- he pops in and out of the film with no motivation. (There is a scene where he hosts a Cheese Tasting (WTF, right?). No explanation, no reason.) Oh I forgot the creepy inference that Williams is interested in the bride (or maybe groom?) sexually or the eight year old protege he is with in EVERY SINGLE SCENE. Or the way the film wraps up in about 30 seconds--

Sorry, this film was a waste of $7. Glad we bought the snacks at WalMart.

And I heard Krasinki was gonna show some skin in this film-- Nope. None.
