Al Franken's book came out about a year ago, and I finally picked up the paperback copy. Of course, it's hilarious (well, it's Franken), but it's also very well-thought out and fact-based. The Ann Coulter chapters are a hoot. Has anyone else read it?

Edit: I apologise for sounding utterly fan-girlish right there. I'm kind of in love with that book.

Very funny stuff -- read Joe Conason's "Big Lies" as a companion piece (not as funny, but goes far deeper factually over some of the same ground).

Al Franken has two things that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann coulter, et al don't have.

1) Truthfulness
2) A Sense of Humour

I love this book.

Yes Monkey, I was a bit surprised to find out that teenage girls are the major fanbase of political satire. re: Lies and the Lying Lyars Who Tell Them

A few months back there was a brief interview with Franken on 60 Minutes, I believe, in which he quoted his book and talked about the world of politics and politicians...at one point he mentioned the children who have been slaughtered in the war and his eyes welled up with tears - it had me crying as I watched. I think he's a brilliant man with a wonderful sense, not only of humor, but of the way in which the government should be led. I hope to read his book at some point.

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!
