Posted: 9/8/04 at 10:48pmAl Franken's book came out about a year ago, and I finally picked up the paperback copy. Of course, it's hilarious (well, it's Franken), but it's also very well-thought out and fact-based. The Ann Coulter chapters are a hoot. Has anyone else read it?

OMG I LOVE THAT BOOK SOOOOO MUCH! IT'S SO GREAT!!!!!
Edit: I apologise for sounding utterly fan-girlish right there. I'm kind of in love with that book.

Al Franken has two things that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Ann coulter, et al don't have.
1) Truthfulness
2) A Sense of Humour
I love this book.
The opposite of creation isn't war, it's stagnation.

Yes Monkey, I was a bit surprised to find out that teenage girls are the major fanbase of political satire.

Posted: 9/9/04 at 9:37amA few months back there was a brief interview with Franken on 60 Minutes, I believe, in which he quoted his book and talked about the world of politics and politicians...at one point he mentioned the children who have been slaughtered in the war and his eyes welled up with tears - it had me crying as I watched. I think he's a brilliant man with a wonderful sense, not only of humor, but of the way in which the government should be led. I hope to read his book at some point.
