I did a search about the show, and this movie came up on IMDB. Has anyone seen it?

If so, is it good? I love the '60s.

I've only seen the Broadway musical.
I do have a feeling that I'll get to see the film very soon in NYC.

It's on TCM, fairly regularly. Well, at least I've seen in on there, a couple of times. I like it.

It has some wonderful performances by Olivia de Havilland and Yvette Mimieux and a plot twist between the mother and the father that I prefer to the musical.

I recorded it last time it was on TCM since it hasn't ever been released of VHS or DVD, but I haven't got around to watching it yet. Maybe after I finish the musical that's on my DVR from yesterday.

I've seen it and it doesn't have Mike Piazza in it either but it does have George Hamilton as Fabrizio Naccarelli!

Forgive my ignorance, having never seen either. Do they have the same story line?

The movie is excellent, reminds me a lot of Summertime.

perhaps you'd like to read the novella, where it all started?

I really enjoy the movie and it's especially interesting for anyone who's a fan of the musical.

chevtriss....what an ignorant statement. Sorry but in the middle of summer in Florence, I am NOT wearing anything other than shorts.........

apparently you don't travel much. Seasoned travelers go for comfort.......unless you are rice, and can afford to have clothes dry-cleaned all over Europe.

Elphaba, shorts are fine as long as you leave the fanny in the back of the closet (along with all your skeletons!)

apparenly I do travel much. Even in countries where you CANNOT wear shorts in public. A long cotton skirt is just as as comfortable and rinses out in the sink overnight.

exposing the back of ones naked thighs to public seating is just plain nasty.

oh please.......how utterly ridiculous. Most MEN I know do not wear skirts. Hell, most people in Prague, Budapest, etc aren't even dressed up.....

lol, thanks Ms. Manners..........

Does someone have a hidden sexual fetish the back of ones naked thighs?

I think so.

PJ - I was wondering if the plot twist was in the musical.

Careful about wearing shorts in certain churches, mosques and temples. Also short sleeves... and sandals. It's not allowed in some places. It's considered disrespectful, and you will be asked to leave very abruptly. I've seen it happen quite a few times... in Italy mostly.

best, In Rome, and Venice, and the Amalfi Coast, I never had a problem in shorts or short sleves........in any church at all or museums, etc, although I wore very thin pants in St. Peters.
I would never wear sandals anywhere in Europe, just not my thing.
