The sad thing to me is this crime is what shut down "Ragtime," one of the best shows of the past quarter century.

It was so mismanaged out of town, when I saw it first in L.A. They kept extending the run and not promoting it at all. Then giving away tons of tickets. I saw it myself twice for free (twice I paid, too). I remember thinking how strange it was at the time. I knew they were losing millions and doing nothing about it. They didn't close it, and they didn't promote the extensions in the run.

That was all before it even opened on Broadway.

If not for him, would we ever have KOTSW & Ragtime? He also deserves kudos for renovating the derelict oriental in Chicago and building the Hilton in NY

Absolutely. I saw the OBC early in the run and loved it. I was convinced it would run for years.

The weird thing to me is that compared to he Masers of Mismanagement, Madoff, AIG et all,
Drabinsky & Gottlieb seem like juvenile delinquents .
I mean- they only bilked millions!
