JULY 5, 2009 - LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- About 1.6 million fans registered for a chance at fewer than 9,000 pairs of tickets to Michael Jackson's memorial service next week, organizers said. Registration ended at 6 p.m. Saturday. Officials will now "scrub" all entries to eliminate duplicates and those they suspect may have been registered using software that ticket scalpers use to generate multiple hits. A random drawing will follow. The winning 8,750 registrants will receive an e-mail Sunday after 11 a.m. (2 p.m. ET), AEG Live said.

Posted: 7/5/09 at 10:59pmI once considered bidding on a leaf that hit Alec Baldwin's shoulder on Central Park West. But people here were acting very bitchy about it so I didn't. And that's one of my life's biggest regrets.

When I was on the premiere episode of Bette Midler's ill-fated sit-com, she spit some food out, and the guy next to me grabbed a shrimp she threw and said to me, "I'll get a fortune for this on eBay!"
No joke.

Oh no. Expired shrimp can't be good for anybody, even if spat by divinity.
There was one episode of that show that I particularly loved. It involved a long flight with Bette in first class and Joanna Gleason in coach with Bette yelling back questions to Joanna, whose character's name was Connie. (It was a flashback episode that covered how they first met, which was funny in and of itself.) Bette had gotten into a conversation with somebody about the movie Ghandi, (which she pronounced in the way that rhymes with "candy") and all she could say about it was that it was long. And she yelled back, "Connie! Wasn't Ghandi long????" I have never heard mention of Mahatma since without hearing that line in my head.

Posted: 7/6/09 at 3:38amI am going to take screen shots of this thread because it mentions the item. Then I will sell it on eBay and set a reserve price in the mid-thousands. As an added bonus, I will include a screenshot of the ended auction as well as an item removed page. This will be a wonderful addition to any Michael Jackson collection.

Now, someone is selling the programs to the memorial.
Funny, because they showed the program on CNN and it looks nothing like the ones this loser is selling:

Plus shipping and handling!
He's promising that it's the real deal, but doesn't have any shots of the inside of it.
I'm floored that eBay hasn't removed it.
