This is such a great show!! I missed it last week, so I was a little confused last night, but I just love it.
Too bad it wasn't that great. The show is really flailing and I'm quickly losing interest. I wouldn't have watched it at all except Jarico wanted to see it.
Matt??? WHY? the opening waterfall scene was awesome... I love Kate AND Sawyer (with his shirt off)
For some reason I always feel like I'm watching a repeat. I almost changed the channel during the waterfall scene last night because I thought the episode had aired before.

I thought it was pretty good. I missed a few episodes also so I was a little confused.
Was last week a new episode? I haven't watched last night's yet, but I thought the last episode was the pregnant chick and what's-his-name being kidnapped by the guy who wasn't on the plane manifest. No?
Lost and Alias both did well. Happy to see Abrams' other show on Wed where it won't get pulled every week for music, sports or entertainment specials on Sunday nights.
The two shows seem to be a great fit. Now, if we could just figure out a way to do a cross-over show :)
The last episode last yr WAS the kidnapping and almost death of the pregnant girl and CHARLIE. Last night just mentioned it briefly and started another story...I hope we find out what happened to her next week!
"Last night just mentioned it briefly and started another story"
That sums up the entire show. They start stories and then completely abandon them time and again with maybe a brief reference here and there. There are way too many stories and zero focus. If they feel too close to having to provide an explanation for something, they provide new flashback or a whole new storyline without actually adding much information or depth to any of the characters. The whole story about the doctor and his father? It was a complete waste of time. Next week, we might go back to the big scary monster. How long has it been since that was addressed? The whole waterfall thing was predictable, banal, and senseless. The sexual tension was cliche. If she didn't want him to really have the case, why did she deliberately point it out to him instead of going back at another point in time without him? And the fact that she risked her life more than once and the lives of several others for a bit of nostalgia is either a red herring or an alarmingly trite attempt at sympathy for what is essentially an unlikeable character.
Jeez, maybe my standards are giving way to the onslought of crap on TV these days, but I just watched the new "Lost" and I really enjoyed it. I agree that some of the arcs seem to disappear, and the imagery can be a bit portentious and overblown, but I think the writing is building up a group of characters with compelling personalities, and I think the performers are really bringing them to life. I think Charlie is sweet and adorable, I think Said is compelling, I love having mysterious Chinese chick observing it all and pretending not to speak English, I love seeing Harold Perrineau having full use of his legs and Boone--don't start me on Boone. Yum.
