I really like this new series on CBS - with Tom Cavanagh and Jason Priestly, among others. With my luck, it will get cancelled!
SPOILER BELOW
At the very end of the episode, we, the viewers, find out that one of the friends, a former baseball star, is gay. We don't know whether his buddies know or not.

I really enjoyed it too, Jon. I liked Tom Cavanaugh in ED, but thought towards the end of the series especially, they were relying too much on his cute, dufus routine. It's nice to see a vehicle for him that really shows that while is does have the cute everyman thing going for him, he also has some other levels. I just hope they don't jump the shark too early with the obvious platonic-opposite-sex-best-friend-turned-love-interest. It's been done. It's partially why Ed ulitmately failed. Let's see what happenes with two best friends of the opposite sex who are just that - FRIENDS.
I am pretty certain the guys don't know that the one friend is gay. The way they were talking the bball court, when he turned down that "hot" girl, by saying he was more into blondes right now.
I'm really looking forward to see where this show will go. Ben Folds is going to be on an upcoming episode. Double bonus for me!!!

I caught some of this and I'm torn. I liked the characters, especially Tom Cavanaugh and Judy Greer's characters, but the four guy "banter" was a bit much.
Hopefully, it will tone down in the future.

I hope this show does well, although I do wonder why the Jason Priestly character spends so much time with his single guy friends if he's so happy being married? Why isn't he home with his wife?
As for the best female friend cliche, hopefully they'll surprise us and bring a new tack to it. There's clearly something going on there since she was lying to him about going on a date and he's obviously unhappy with her dating that Scott guy. Fingers crossed!

You can say that again. I felt like the music industry talk was just a little too smug or something. I mean, who DOESN'T know Sid Vicious's real name? And, wasn't that the frickin Cutting Room for the concert scene? There is nothing, nada, they can do to make that place hip, even in fiction.
