Hmmm...do you think it is? Having never been lucky enough to have it, im not sure. I want it desperately but is it all its cracked up to be?
Sorry for the rather sombre nature of the thread!

I wouldn't know. I don't have love life yet.

Yes.
Stop looking for it, and it will come to you when you least expect.
It's all that and more.
I have to agree with Jose...love finds YOU, you don't find IT. If you go about life keeping open to the possibilities, doing things that interest you, and being open to the people you meet, you just never know who or what the day will bring.
love ESPECIALLY seems to find you when you do NOT want it!

"Love. Is it all its cracked up to be?"
It is the reason and the point.
YES.
I have been in love three times. My first love was a relationship that lasted over 4 years. He was the love of my life.
The second lasted over two wonderful years.
Love is worth the pain.
I have been in lust many times, but love is special.

If you're a loving person it will come back to you tenfold.
And DGrant is absolutely right.
To quote DIRTY ROTTEN SCOUNDRELS, "Love sneaks in". It happens when you are not looking, and it is wonderful, life-changing, and every other corny, hyperbolic adjective that is assigned to it. I have been privileged to be madly in love for 12 years. I love my wife as much today as I did when first we met.

MEF- LOVE the signature... that's so funny!
And now back to love...
Thanks, Ashley. It is so true, though.
Now, back to professing our love for love.

Oscar Wilde said:
"Love makes people good."
"To be in love is to surpass oneself."
"True love suffers, and is silent."
"Everyone is worthy of love, except he who thinks he is."
"Misunderstanding...is the basis of love."
"Love can heal all wounds."
"Lust...makes one love all that one loathes." (listen up Corine)
"It is difficult not to be unjust to what one loves."
"Yet each man kills the thing he loves..."
"One should always be in love. That is the reason one should never marry."
Love means something different to each individual who experiences it.
(José said that).
p.s. I don't share Wilde's perspective on that last point (and I don't think he believed it either). I met my partner over 30 years ago, and with each passing day, to quote Stevie Wonder, "I love [him] more today than yesterday."

Love is incredible.
Breaking up...not so much. Sustaining a relationship isn't easy, you have to work at it. But it's worth it (or so I've heard).
I feel a little Marvin-ish right now. *hangs head* Love...don't talk to me about love.

I was waiting for that, Over the Moon.
Love hurts, love scars,
Love wounds, and marks,
Any heart, not tough,
Or strong, enough
To take a lot of pain,
Take a lot of pain
Love is like a cloud
Holds a lot of rain
Love hurts, ooh ooh love hurts
I’m young, I know,
But even so
I know a thing, or two
I learned, from you
I really learned a lot,
Really learned a lot
Love is like a flame
It burns you when it’s hot
Love hurts, ooh ooh love hurts
Some fools think of happiness
Blissfulness, togetherness
Some fools fool themselves I guess
They’re not foolin’ me
I know it isn’t true,
I know it isn’t true
Love is just a lie,
Made to make you blue
Love hurts, ooh,ooh love hurts
Ooh,ooh love hurts
[guitar solo]
I know it isn’t true,
I know it isn’t true
Love is just a lie,
Made to make you blue
Love hurts, ooh ooh love hurts
Ooh ooh love hurts
Ooh ooh...
That said, my best friend and her husband have been married for 20+ years, and they are so happy it makes my teeth hurt. In a good way! Now, if Maureen would just return my calls...

During college I torturously endured an unrequited infatuation with a young woman (hey, I tried), anyhooooo...
I remember in one of my last written notes to her quoting Christina Rosetti,
"better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all."
And remember the counsel that Bobby gets from the company, "don't be afraid that it won't be perfect, the only thing to be afraid of is that it won't be."
