I liked all the Lucy shows. I have always told Dave that "if God forbid anything should EVER happen to you. I want a Mr. Mooney in my life"

Lucy is my all-time favorite female comedian! No one can come close to her natural sense of comedy and timing...not even Carol Burnette, who is wonderful as well. imho. I've got a small collection of Lucy in my office.
Can't pick a favorite episode, Vegameatavitamin is up there with all her Hollywood star encounters, the sunburn wool suit modeling, and the grape stomping secne.

Ricardo. As Lucy Carmichael she didn't have the same chemistry with Mary Jane as she did with Vivian Vance as Ethel. Even with Vivian Vance playing Vivian bagley for a few seasons, something was missing. I think it was partly due to their age at teh time of The Lucy Show. Lucy couldn't pull off those stunts and seem as lovable as she did when she was on I Love Lucy.
There also seemed to be a piece missing without Desi. The two of them played off of one another perfectly. She ws never able to match that chemistry with Gale Gordon. Of course, I am a bit partial to those hot Latin men and loved Desi.

I have friends from Europe who grew up never seeing I Love lucy - when they were here a few years ago, I think we spent at tleat two nights watching tapes -- and lal the kept saying is Why didn;t we see this show -- they grew up in Germany (West) -- needless to say I was surprised....

Hey, don't start up on Ricky. He was the original Latin lover. Desi Arnez was also a very savvy business man.
I think he was hot, even if he was a bit anal. What I never unstood was why his name was Ricky Ricardo when Ricky would be the English diminutive of Ricardo. So, was his full name Ricardo Ricardo?
