The METS would be great if:
1. They had a number 4 & 5 pitcher
2. They had the Cliff Floyd of last year
3. David Wright finds his home run stroke again
4. Ditto for Carlos Delgado
5. Beltran did not take so many call 3 rd strikes
6. Willie Randolph believed in the squeeze play
7. The METS hit with runners on base
8. They brought up anyone to replace the putrid Lima
9. They brought up Milledge to see what he could do
10.They get a real live 2nd baseman
They have big problems & I would not be printing up world series tickets yet. The lineup is not the offensive powerhouse it was cracked up to be. I swear the Mets could take Babe Ruth & DiMaggio & turn them into 200 hitters. They could have used Scott Kazmir in their rotation but they can't due to the most boneheaded trade since they gave away Nolan Ryan for a bunch of Cracker Jack (or Melvin Mora for a washed up shortstop)

No a long suffering METS fan who is not looking at the team with rose colored glasses as many are
They are better than last year but the recently completed disatrous road trip showed many of the weekenesses I described. The offensive is not consistent. It scores 12 runs & gets shut out the next , scores 2 the next & 1 the next
I think Philly wins the NL East & if lucky the METS get the wild card

Hooray, game 2 is on Fox this afternoon! Maybe Mike will get it turned around even though he's down 0-2 now. He gets to bat today! That's so much fun! I love how he bats left handed.
I was hoping that when he went to the Yankees he wouldn't have to pitch against Pedro anymore but still even though they've both switched teams they STILL wind up pitching against each other all the time!

Overcoming a good start by Pedro and taking advantage of a wild Billy Wagner, the Yankees won in extras on a game winning hit by Andy Phillips

I don't see why Willie didn't leave Sanchez in for the ninth. There's no reason to bring in your closer with a four-run lead after a quick inning from Sanchez.

Willie looked like he was about to come out to the mound but he stepped back and just started clapping in support of Wagner. Then he hits Bernie Williams and we get another run!!
