Anyone a Massachusetts High School Drama Guild Alum? Still an active member? Attend festivals? Post your stories here! Also, what plays are your schools doing for this year's festival?

Still competing! I'm a junior this year. Durfee. We competed in Bourne last year for prelims and we host semi-finals every year! We usually make it to finals (we didn't last year re: MHSDG) and I don't remember the name of the show we're doing this year (I have it written down too! LOL!) but it should be pretty good!

My school (Andover High School) competes every year and never advance. We also host regonials, usally. But this year we are trying to host semi-finals. We havnt decided on a show but the last two years we have done General of Hot Desire (in Sharon) and the Lottery at Andover High.

Just wanted to bump this...
This years festival just happened this past weekend and my school (Wakefield High School) competes every year. We did a comical rendition of Shakespeare's Cymbeline, adding a narrator named Nigel (and our director wrote all of his lines) renamed it "An Evening with the Bard Presents Cymbeline"; and turned it into a British BBC/public access type of television program. We didn't move on this year, but it was still a fun experience and we saw some really good plays (one that I think deserves a mention is Winthrop's brilliant (and original) adaptation of "Everyman").
Anyone else here compete this year?

This year was my first time doing festival. As hectic as the process has been, it's so much amazing fun. And every show we saw at prelims was wonderful! We put on a kind of modern adaptation of Alice in Wonderland, and will be competing at semis at Ipswich. Maybe I'll see some of you there =)
