updated Reuters report~

The plane carrying Vice President Dick Cheney from Australia to the United States has a small mechanical fault and will stopover in Singapore on Sunday, a source told Reuters in Singapore.

The source, who declined to be named, said the plane would arrive in the city-state in the mid-afternoon on Sunday.

"There is a small mechanical difficulty with the plane. There will be a planned mid-afternoon refueling stop that has been scheduled," she said
