Superstar MADONNA is reportedly planning to ring in her 50th year with a special gig in New York City's Central Park. The 48-year-old singer is in talks to mark her entry into her Quinquagenarian years on 16 August 2008, as part of a U.S. tour to promote her forthcoming album. A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "One of the ideas she loves is to do Central Park on her birthday. She came up with it and has been discussing it as a serious possibility. "She doesn't like getting older but she knows there's no way she can pretend her birthday isn't happening. "She is planning to kick off a world tour next June in America to promote her new album. Playing at Central Park would be the highlight. "She sees it as a huge televised event

She used to live on CPW and she loved my dad's terriers.
VOGUE!
I would love to see that concert but it will be so packed. I'm a bit scared about the crowds. James Taylor's concert was so crowded it took hours to leave the park after the show.
Can you imagine the security on Madonna.
Don't go for second best baby....

We knew you used to play with Josh Mostel when the two of you were kids, but this is the first we've heard about Madonna's close personal relationship with your father's dogs, Corine. What other fab celeb facts have you been holding out on?

My Dad (when he was alive lived on CPW across the street from Madonna)
MADONNA saw Tally and Rags on the street with my Dad and would stop and pet them. Rags loved her. I sadly never met her or walked the dogs when Madonna saw them but my Dad did.
Rosie also knew my Dad but I NEVER met her.
ANYTHING ELSE?

Who'd you go to school with again? Brooke Shields, I remember, and that one girl who got AIDS and they made a TV movie out of her and her name is in the Life Support scene in Rent. But who else?

I hope this concert happens. I have been a huge Madonna fan since 1983 and have seen her 7 times in concert. I would have to go to this concert!

Yeah--I would want to go, but the crowd would be wild. And I just hate crowded places. Hopefully, it would be taped for DVD or something.

Central Park concerts on this scale are rare.

That said, Madonna knows she would be one of only three women in the history of Central Park to headline a great lawn pop concert and the thought must be quite interesting to her.

The sheer magnitude of an event like this would shut down the city and that thought must also appeal to her. Not many fify year old women can say that. (Hell, not many 25 year old women can say that!)

Last, but not least, Madonna is also an avid Central Park lover. She lived across the street from it, has jogged countless times in it and has taken her kids there on numerous outings.

If I were a betting man................
