When was the last time you had one?
Yuuuum!

Posted: 2/1/09 at 4:17pm'Bout four months ago. I used to love them when I was little, but I couldn't finish the one I was eating. It was all flaky and cakey... I have to wonder if they're actually making them differently or if I just had bad tastes in snacks as a kid.

Posted: 2/1/09 at 4:37pmI've never had a Mallomar, but moon pies where I'm from are...it's like a sandwich but with chocolate cake instead of bread and whipped sugar as the filling. Delicious. Now I really, really want one.

Is a Mallomar the same thing as a moon pie?
I grew up with moon pies in the South.

Try Nabisco Pinwheels. Much better quality than the Mallowmars.
nmartin - Moon pies are a bit different. They are larger than Mallowmars and use two cookies to encase a thinner layer of marshmallow-like cream in the middle.

Posted: 2/1/09 at 7:49pmThanks, Matt. I know this may sound incredible, but I don't think I've ever even heard of a Mallomar.

No Mallomars or Moon Pies, but I did eat a package of Ding Dongs yesterday.
They were delish.
