I just saw this on CNN. Horrifying.

I'll bet $14 is a lot of money over there. And then there's the jail time with hard labor.

So their reasoning and excuse is that "it's in our constitution?"

Slavery was in ours.

And miscegenation used to be illegal in many states (not all that long ago, either). Also punishable with fines and jail time.

Constitutions can and should change periodically. Especially for the sake of human rights.

"This is how it's always been," is one of the worst excuses for anything ever.
