Margaret Cho takes another stab at series TV

http://www.advocate.com/news_detail_ektid22242.asp

Fox Broadcasting Co. is developing a comedy script with comedienne Margaret Cho, who unhappily starred in the short-lived sitcom All-American Girl on ABC in 1994–1995. The ethnic, multigenerational family comedy is said to involve a character based on Cho's mother that she has made a fixture of her stand-up routine.
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter

Lucky you!
A whole show.
I had my picture taken with him after "Pacific Overtures" (I don't have it though) and he was radiantly beautiful.

I love Margaret, but it seems like doing a show about her mother might be a step backwards for her in a way. I just hope it's good.

The only problem with Cho on network tv is that they homogenize her bite. And that's what makes her who she is. If she has greater creative control over this, we might still see some of what brought Cho her fame in the first place. Otherwise, it's going to be another blah wash of a sitcom.

You're right. I have a hard time imagining her allowing herself to be censored again though. We'll see.
