My GOD, Cookie, I'm melting!! I installed my air conditioner a couple days ago and it's broken! I need a new one so now I'm dying! I feel worse for my kitties, they're comatose!!

I'm not sure what normal is, Cam. I'm sure we'll all NEVER know!

OK. Your gracious apology is totally unnecessary, but it is accepted.

You were referencing the similarities in the sound of the names--Juan, Jose, Jorge--all sound alike, right, to an unfocused ear? Like Dustin, Justin, Austin.

People who don't know me very well will sometimes call me Juan and Jorge. I even get Carlos, too, every once-in-a-while. Go figure.

I never mistake Matthew's name, however.

Exactly..

I was at great america a few weekends ago (see the Dani Minogue thread) and I ran into this super hot guy, obviously hispanic, and I called him Jose, and he was like "hey" and that was his name... he even showed me his ID to prove it.

Lucky me. Not sure where that's going, but thought I'd share.

I refuse to call my baby brother Tony....he will always be Anthony to me..such a beautiful name why shorten it to Tony? Even Michael..another beautiful name...I refuse to call guys Mike..unless they prefer it.

But I do like Matty for Matthew.
