No gay marriage vote in Illinois. We did get a "concealed carry" law that allows you to carry your gun into restaurants and shopping malls and whatever. That passed handily.
Which is kind if odd as religious groups lobbied hard to stop Gay Marriage bills but seem fine with the gun bill. I guess the bible needs to add "If a man carried a gun into Chili's and shoots another man, it is an abomination".

Posted: 5/31/13 at 9:16pmBetter a delay than an anti-gay constitutional amendment, though. Not that that's what was on the table, but at least you still have a chance in your state (as well as access to "marriage-like" contracts that are banned in many others).

Sorry, Illinois. As a Californian, I can imagine your disappointment.
But before we begin official mourning, let's see what SCOTUS does...
