Is this an accurate biopic of the great Judy? I'm curious to hear your thoughts. How do you feel about the portrayals of the characters involved?

I liked it. My favorite scene is when the TV suits are telling Judy that her show is not interesting to America or something to that effect she uses the phone in front of her to dial the White House and speak to the President Kennedy. And she asks him if he likes her show? Judy ?(the actress playing Judy Garland) was terrific.

Orph, I suggest you read the book on which the telefilm was based.

I very well might do that, Rathnait. I very nearly bought it from amazon yesterday, but decided against it at the last minute!
You can probably get it at the library and read it for free.
Well I love this movie because it involves the passion of my heart Judy.
Is it accurate? To my understanding at least it is for the most part. I've read a plethora of Garland biography's and seen a lot of documentries on this women. Most of which either focus on the great of her, or the worst, but some actually tell the facts (as far as I know anyway). It's a great movie with most of its facts straight I think.
Get the book! It's worth it.
I too enjoyed it. Both actresses that played young and old Judy did an amazing job.

Tammy Blanchard (Louise in the recent revival of Gypsy) was the young Judy.

Oh how I love Tammy!
Young Judy: Well it’s better then Francis Gumm! Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing the Gumm Sisters, the Glum Sisters, the Rigley Sisters, the Dumb Sisters - where are we going?
Sigh. I think I'll watch this movie tomorrow...

Aw, Chita, you do flatter me so. "Medicated" or not, I am one crazy beeotch. If you're able to deal, then you're a kindred. If not, step out of the way.
(Something tells me you're a kindred, though)

Apparently, although she didn't do her own singing in the film, Judy Davis does sing. Sydney Theatre Company have been trying to get her to do a musical ever since "Me & my shadows"came out.
