Has anyone seen her in concert? She'll be performing in Mpls. next June, and I love her work. I missed Carole King, and I'll be damned if I'll miss this one.
See her, see her, see her! She is a wonderful concert performer. I've been a fan since ... well, her first album. You do the math. I've probably been to ten of her concerts and she just gets better and better. I love Missy.

SOMMS - she's got 4 dates at the Kimmel Center in Philly at the end of October (26, 28, 29 & 30 I believe.)
Isn't she fabulous?
Aren't we gay?
Tickets had already been purchased! I still listen to ALL of her albums on vinyl. I even play her musical about once a month. I am gay and I am a HUGE fan!

I know it's somewhat ridiculous, but my favorite album of hers was Mathematics. Probably because of when it hit in my life - did I mention I was gay?
How can you NOT love someone who started with Bette 'Brood Hen to the Stars' Midler?
I mean really! Singing backup at the baths as a Harlette and with Barry at the keys. Gay, gay, gay!
One of the happiest days of my gay little life was finding and buying an 80's concert tape on Ebay!

"Well hello there, good old friend of mine...." ahhhhhhh
"I'm a sucker for happy endings..."
oh, the sweet innocent days when I could sing that line and have it mean what she meant it to mean...
I do adore her music. What a wonderful concert to be able to go to.

Boobs - her website says she's in Trenton, NJ with the philly Pops on Oct. 29th. But it also says she's in PHILLY on the 29th, so I have no idea how that's working!
Hmmm that's idiotic DG....I'll go check..thanks sweetie.
"Please don't let this feeling end...it may not come again..."
That sounds like a line SOMMS sings a lot.

The concert on the 29th is indeed at the War Memorial in Trenton. The Philly pops often do concerts here with their guest performers. Wanna go Boobs?
"That's why they call me Easy"
Fire in the Morning is one of my FAVS!!!!!
Not just fabulous: Fab-u-lous!
Melissa is a magnificent singer--and she tells the best Bette Midler stories!
I had to bump this thread.
A few years ago I saw Melissa Manchester in concert with Al Jarreau. It was a concert in "tandem" with "A Charlie Brown Christmas" in Chicago. They were both brilliant. Manchester sang "Through The Eyes of Love" backed by a contracted concert orchestra. She brought me back to the way I felt about her in th 70s and 80s. What a voice!
I was just introduced to Melissa Manchester singing "Unexpected Song" ...........from years past.
Had to share the love.
