As Auggie mentioned Meryl Streep starred in a Broadway production of THE HAPPY END the musical by Weill and Breacht in the 1970s. She did a great job when I think back on the show. It was one of her last stage appearances before celluloid celebrity.
She's been singing for a long time long before we knew her as "Meryl Streep."
