Yes, my interests and preferences are all very popular.
...
HA.
oh.
my.
god.
you are, like, so full of yourself you won't ned to eat for, like, a year.
Oh my, I didn't log on yesterday (GASP!) and missed the celebration. I luvs ya Iffie! You truly are a wonderful and special person and very deserving of this honor. You're also a special person in my life--on and off this board. You've made me feel like a member of your family! Although I don't think I've met Great Aunt Dora on your mother's father's side.
It was an awesome iflit lovefest SOMMS!!
I had a lovely day and thank everyone who posted nice things. I've had some unpleasant "stuff" going on in my 'real' life that I've been dealing with for the past few days and was extremely blue when I awakened yesterday. Who knew that something as seemingly silly as a message board award could have so much ability to alter one's mood. Anyway, this morning I have awakened with a new appreciation for both online communities and the power of words. Craig, I am a cynic no more. This is a lovely tradition that you have created and I hope it remains a positive presence on the OT board for a long time to come. So far, although three is a pretty minimal sample size, the choices have avoided what could be perceived as cliquishness, and I intend to follow in suit.
I'll be naming today's Celebrity of the Day shortly. I'm just putting some finishing touches on my post.
But thanks again, everyone!
Iflit it was a pleasure. I'm so happy I could bring a ray of cyber sunshine into your day. I too have been dealing with some less than fun stuff so I second your sentiment about the thread being a pick me up
shameless - good idea about the questions. Otherwise we would not have had the chance to read the wonderful post in the previous page. Much respect to you, iflit. Thanks for the wonderful read you always provide on the board. I know I'm very late; but just glad to hear that you had a lovely day yesterday.
Finally, someone giving credit where credit is deserved.
On a serious note, Iflit, thanks for playing along and for sharing your insights with us.
Sueleen is right. You're a really tough act to follow!
Before we pass the baton to the new CoD, I just want to thank iflit for the thoughtful, insightful and intelligent posts in response to the questions.
Strength of convictions. Brava.
Very well put addy!
Iflit - wonderful posts yesterday... and thank you for the mention. As "silly" as it might seem to have this thread (to some) - it is indeed a little "retreat" from the rest of the board and a way to lift spirits and enjoy each other.
Iflit, sorry I missed your day. Congrats and I hope that you have a wonderful day today as well!
I think this thread is the best thing to happen to the OT board in ages.
Thank you, again, Craig.
I’ve given the naming of my successor a great deal of thought. I’ve chosen to bypass anyone I know in person, because to choose between friends – each of whom is deserving in his/her own right - is pretty much impossible, not to mention fraught with hazards. There are friends I have made through BWW who I cherish. They mean the world to me, and they know who they are. And for today, that will have to suffice, because I haven’t chosen any of them as today's honoree.
But back to the task at hand….naming a successor. There is one poster who caught my eye when he began posting last spring. I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting him, and haven’t even interacted with him all that much by PM. But my initial impression of him as someone who is interesting, intelligent, funny, and “gets it” has been consistently reconfirmed. He is also secure enough with who he is to have posted a hilarious, but not especially flattering picture of himself wearing a disposable diaper and sash in honor of New Years. He’s not a slave to vanity. And I love a person who can make the distinction between where a strong sense of self-esteem ends and conceit begins. I also admire that, judging from his blog, he leads a life of introspection.
I’d like for BWW to spend today celebrating the presence of Kringas in our online community. He is truly an asset.
Hail, Kringas!
The waiting is almost getting to me!! Who will Iflit pick?? I am getting the confetti and cookies ready!
All hail Kringas!
GREAT selection, iflit!
I started to get to "know" Kringas only recently, and it has been a friendship quickly formed. In fact, I was thinking of asking if I could start his Fan Club!
Well done, iflit! Congratulations to Kringas!
I bow today to Kringas !!!
Woo and Hoo, for Kringas!!! *** tosses confetti and hands out the cookies***
Wonder if Kringas is also a fan of the Thin Mint...
If he is, I know where to get some...
Is Kringas awake yet? What a wonderful thing to wake up to.

mominator, I'm sure that when he sees this, he'll find some reason to be bitter about it.

I like this one, too
The thing that has struck me the most about him is his apparent fearlessness. He has a notion of where he stands on things, and has no issue speaking from that point of view. Witty without being cruel - which can be tricky in this kind of communication - he adds spark and frequent insight.
And he may be one of the gayest posters here, which is saying something - and it's a good thing!

A great choice - congrats to a man of wit and personal wisdom. Enjoy your day of celebrity, Kringas!
