Salve, Regina, Mater misericordiae
Vita, dulcedo, et spes nostra
Salve, Salve Regina
Ad te clamamus exsules filii Eva
Ad te suspiramus, gementes et flentes
O clemens O pia
Wow, n69n, your post actually brought a tear to my eye. This only proves how freaking exhausted I am, but in any case that's really sad but at least he was there for the milestones in his daughter's life (birth of her son and winning the emmy).
Women should be obscene and not heard.

Nepotism is only unfair when it helps other people.
Mariska's piece was part of Arianna's Becoming Fearless section on her blog. She invites posters to talk about how they have overcome fear in their lives. It's blatant advertising for her new book, but it's a good message and what's wrong with using your blog to sell your book?
"The gods who nurse this universe think little of mortals' cares. They sit in crowds on exclusive clouds and laugh at our love affairs. I might have had a real romance if they'd given me a chance. I loved him, but he didn't love me. I wanted him, but he didn't want me. Then the gods had a spree and indulged in another whim. Now he loves me, but I don't love him." - Cole Porter
I'm so sorry to hear the news of Mickey's passing. When I heard, I immediately thought of Mariska b/c she was so fond of her dad and was so proud to be his daughter. I feel so sorry for her and her family!

Wow am I the only one that had NO IDEA of Mariska's family tree? What a family to come from! She seems to have grown up extremely well coming from that circus-like atmosphere!
Oh I know all about Jayne Mansfield and Mickey Hargitay! I think I posted it on a "Whoo needs a Bio-Pic?" thread. John Waters would be perfect to do the screenplay-- his fixation on Jayne is hilarious! I just ddin't make the "Hargitay" connection!
