Anybody here go to the triple-dip Donald O'Connor - Peggy Ryan (and Gloria Jean) extravaganza at Film Forum last night?

MR. BIG = a hepcat Masterpiece! Viva the Jivin' Jacks 'n Jills!
Why "Rude, Crude and Unrefined" was not nominated for a best song Oscar is a mystery.

THE MERRY MONAHANS = silly, but surprisingly entertaining. Still, Louis DaPron demonstrates why he's not even a Seymour Felix, let along a Busby Berkeley. Jack Oakie is surprisingly good and non-obnoxious.

GET HEP TO LOVE = A little thin on the musical numbers (Peggy Ryan does a knockabout jitterbug number in a malt shop), but the story is surprisingly juicy and funny, with a great, snappy script. And Cora Sue Collins - that beeyotch!
