I've read a lot of "reports say", and that gives me a dubious feeling toward this. If it's true, though, then we lost a great one.
Variety
The reports all sound true.
A truly great one.
RIP and thanks for a lifetime of wonderful memories.
My Grandmother was a chorus girl in vaudeville and early Hollywood. She traveled for a while with Mickey's father, Joe Yule's vaudeville show. She used to babysit Mickey, who was already performing, backstage while Joe was on. I think I've posted these pics before. But thought I'd share them again. RIP Mickey.
This is an autographed pic he gave her...
This is my Grandma in one of the costumes for Joe's show...

My wife was in a show with him about 20 years ago. He was unprofessional and a pervert, but that does not diminish his great career.
Artscallion--Thanks for posting those pics! Grandma took a hell of a picture!!
And R.I.P. Mickey...
brdlwyr, I worked with him as well and he remained a spoiled child star his entire life. Not sure if we can blame him for that though. He did contribute a great deal to movies in the 30s and 40s. Thank-you for the legacy you left behind Mr Rooney. RIP!
Artscallion, those photos took my breath away! Great Grandma was quite the all natural stunner!

SNAFU - KMFNYC (does not post here anymore) was in Sugar Babies and I saw the show 25 years ago! Were you in Sugar Babies?
No. I was "The Dancing Special Effects Technician" on Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Rooney was one of the first guests on the pilot show. Spent some time in the Green Room with him. Also heard all the comments from the writers and backstage staff.

Excellent title! If I recall the story correctly, during rehearsal he literally dropped his pants and exposed his shriveled member!

Lena Dunham: "Mickey Rooney got all the best babes despite being short as hell. #RIP beautiful man"
Jesus Christ. STFU Lena Dunham
^ agree.
Artscallion - stunning photographs! Thank you so much for sharing them.
What about Roman Polanski or Woody Allen or Sinatra?
Not defending whatever Rooney might have done but many appear to have selective memory involving certain people. We now have Lohan & Bieber . A person once said "let he who is without sin cast the first stone" Another saying involves glass houses.
Rooney was not a saint but who in show business is. We celebrate his career. Let the dead rest in peace.
Roxy, why are you bringing Polanski and Allen into this? NO ONE is trashing the artistic achievements of Rooney because of his proclivities just celebrating his life's work as many will do when Allen and Polanski pass.

More unrelated comments from the Roxy False Equivalency Factory. Goth does it too.
Yeah, Rooney just appeared to not be good company and stuck in his times. He didn't even seem to get along with his peers who lived as long as he did either.

I'm a fan of perverts.
What happened to the SIG thread? Was there a Roxy freak out? Did she party poop the whole thread and have it deleted?
Did I sing the ballad yet? Was it wonderful?
