newgirl- yeah paul is singing "jojo is man who thought he was a woman, but he was another man." no misheard lyric there! just a song about jojo and sweet loreta.
in the song from merrily where mary says "burn your bridges start again," my sister thought for *years* she was saying "burn your britches, start again." and she was like, 20-something. why would mary want frank to burn his britches?? i have no idea.

America - West Side Story
I heard: "Everything free in America/Pour us coffee in America"
Real: "Everything free in America/For a small fee in America"
I definitely thought that's what they were saying at first, too.

Posted: 11/4/05 at 6:57pmIn "Groovin'" by The Young Rascals, there is a part that goes "It could be ecstasy, you and me endlessly." But the way he says it, I always thought it was "You and me and Leslie." I remember thinking "who's Leslie?" way before I new what a menage a trois was. My mom always thought "Secret Agent Man" sounded like "Secret Asian Man," and apparently she's not the only one, because she recently found it on a t-shirt.

Posted: 11/4/05 at 7:27pmThis is for the person upthread asking about RESPECT. The lyric is, "take care, TCB". TCB stands for "taking care of business." I remember seeing Aretha Franklin interviewed once & I believe she said she threw in the extra "take care" before TCB just so it would fit with the music.
