Posted: 5/30/05 at 10:16pmI turned it on, and they were all dressed as different things: one African nation's girl was a huge flower, I also saw one dressed as a ladybug. They were dancing (well, twirling in place) to some kind of odd music. I shut it off, scared for my life.

Posted: 5/31/05 at 12:26amFosseBoi, they dance poorly on purpose. If they learn those routines it means they know they won't be selected as one of the finalists who don't have to participate in the group sequences.

Posted: 5/31/05 at 1:39amOkay, pile all the flak on me you want, I was in a pageant once (gulp, I'm not proud of it, I'm a whore, I did it for the money) small-time and stayed in touch with the gals who advanced to the national level - anyway, at any level, you have NO time to learn the routines. They pretty much just throw you up on stage with very little prep work. I secretly think that what you're judged on is BSing twirling and graceful step-thingies that pretend to be in synch with the other gals who are just as lost as you... AND ALL IN HEELS!

no one was dressed as a ladybug, they wore costumes indicitave of their countries....and the person in the "flower" was from a country known for its flora.
Canada won, but then of the 5 finalists she was the only one with a brain, and she had incredible eyes.

Fosse: $200. But I *learned a lot about myself.*
(gags)
Only good part of it was my dress - it was a hot red thing that flattered my curves and was re-used for prom. Yay for that dress.
