Anyone know of any funny male monologues off the top of their head?
We're going to start looking for our monologues to perform in my Performing Arts class. Mind you this is for a High School, so nothing too extreme. I would prefer a comedic monologue since I've done relatively serious stuff so far this year.
I dunno', I'm sure I'll find one myself, but I might as well put it out there for you guys (and gals) to chime in.
"The stage is where I live and come alive and act out all the things that go on in my life. It's not just what I do for a living, it's my shrink and my love affair. No one in my life has ever or ever will kiss me on the mouth like this lover called my relationship with my performance."
oooh theres one REALLY funny monologue ive seen donw, about taking out the garbage...crap, I can't remember what its called or what its from! um, I probably didn't hel pyou much, sorry!! does ANYOPNE know what im talking about??
Joizey, Valere's is a 20 minute or so monologue, but it's very easy to take an excerpt from it. There are also some great monolouges in Moliere, especially the School for Wives and Tartuffe. Some modern translations are also quite saucy. Terribly fun. Learning how to perform in verse is also a very helpful technique, one that many actors today lack.
