The "Green, Green Dress" thread just led to a strange argument. I consider myself somewhat of an expert on all things related to RENT and the life of Jonathan Larson, but I just had a conversation with a friend that left me stumped. She insists that Molly Ringwald was actually a good friend of Jonathans and was even at his funeral? I feel dumb but I don't remember hrearing anything like that before! So is my friend right? Thanks in advance

"Well, I met Jonathan about the same time that I met Victoria. I guess in '92. I knew Jon, but just sort of on the periphery. If you know Victoria, you know that she's very social and loves to have gatherings. Jon was one of her favorite people and one of her best friends. Most of the earlier time, when I first met Victoria, and we first became friends, I had just moved to Paris, and I always stayed with her whenever I came back to New York. But I didn't really know Jon that well. It wasn't until I moved back to New York that we started to spend more time together. He was really helpful when I first moved here because Victoria was out of the country and so Jon was helping me sort of move into my apartment. She hasd two engagements in "Cabaret" as Sally. Putting the time together, I'd imagine she was there for a rather long time. Although, I could be wrong, Gina Gershon played Sally longer than any other actress to come through the recent revival.
Oh...
and Molly co-starred in "Enchanted April" a season or two ago.
