Molly Ringwald and Jonathan Larson?

The "Green, Green Dress" thread just led to a strange argument. I consider myself somewhat of an expert on all things related to RENT and the life of Jonathan Larson, but I just had a conversation with a friend that left me stumped. She insists that Molly Ringwald was actually a good friend of Jonathans and was even at his funeral? I feel dumb but I don't remember hrearing anything like that before! So is my friend right? "Well, I met Jonathan about the same time that I met Victoria. I guess in '92. I knew Jon, but just sort of on the periphery. If you know Victoria, you know that she's very social and loves to have gatherings. Jon was one of her favorite people and one of her best friends. hmm thanks, I didnt realize she could sing, although I don't know much about her except for Sixteen Candles, Not Another Teen Movie, and Pretty in Pink.
