This story is just now gaining coverage from Halloween and it's outrageous. Had to share it. Here's the real highlight courtesy of this hillbilly racist:
"'My brother has [worn it] when he was in Kindergarten and when he was 13,' Black said. She went on to claim there is nothing wrong with the costume or with the White Supremacist group, which she says still exists in their Virginia town. 'It's supposed to be white with white, black with black, man with woman and all of that. That's what the KKK stands for.'"

These two won a cash prize!
Unbelievable!

If that little KKK brat showed up at my door I would not have given him candy.
I know he's too young to understand, but his parents need to be taught that despite some racist "tradition", this is just not socially acceptable.
Personally, I see it as child abuse and think the parents should be investigated by the state.
Here's another

I suppose those who are offended have no sense of humor. Isn't that what these bigots like to say?

I hate the logic of the mother. She is inconsistent.
She SHOULD have said "White belongs with White. Black belongs with Black. Man belongs with Man. Woman belongs with Woman."

Or, as Dana Gould put it so eloquently in his Halloween podcast (which is hilarious, BTW),
"Humanity. Is there a bottom?"

Irony taken to the Nth degree:
"Black's son, appearing oblivious to those threats — and the outfit's meaning — told a WHSV reporter he first saw it in the 1991 movie, "Fried Green Tomatoes." Asked why he wanted to wear it, he answered, "Cause it was cool.""
How can a kid sit through FGT and come out thinking Klan good, Blacks & homos bad?
I hope he still loves BBQ
You've got to be carefully taught.
he probably thought it was a ghost costume.
Unbelievable.
Indeed, best12. Indeed.

And then there's the two British chicks dressed as burning WTC towers.

They both deserve to have a blunt object abruptly lodged into their foundation!
I forgot to mention that they won the costume competition they were in.

It's official. I hate humans. And the world.
Time to take the pets and head into my underground shelter for a few years...

Not to mention the hi-larious Boston Marathon bombing victim.
Reg, that's the story my link went to. I've been having trouble posting pics on here lately.

So, is it stupidity? Is it a lack of a conscience? What is it that inspires people to do this?
With the KKK Kostume, I think it's the mother deliberately carrying on her family's tradition of bigotry.
The other two I'm afraid represent society's current notion that snark trumps everything else.
