I recently discovered this BBC series at my local library. I got the first two seasons on dvd and am enchanted by them. The actors are marvelous and were totally unknown to me. I especially like Alexander Morton, Susan Hampshire, Richard Briers and Hamish Clark. Julian Fellowes, the Oscar winning writer of Gosford Park, also appears in some of the episodes and is wonderful. Anyone else familiar this?
If you don't know "The Good Life" (known in the US as "Good Neighbors"), you should check it out. Classic BBC comedy from the 70s, starring Richard Briers, Felicity Kendall, Paul Eddignton, and the incomparable Penelope Keith.
