huh. this is new to me. imagine being hired BECAUSE of your "lifestyle preference."
Sounds like affirmative action.
I don't want to be hired just because there's a gay quota.

Does that mean as a boring, under age 50, straight gal, I might not be hired for certain jobs because of my age and lifestyle preference?
Phooey!

Imagine being hired BECAUSE of your "race".
To be fair, they said they were recruiting in those areas, to get variety in the application pool. That is pretty common. My employer sometimes makes a big effort to recruit at black colleges, etc. But I agree it is a fine line between that and what is traditionally considcered affirmative action. Actually, I think it is illegal to ask applicants about some of those things. Anyway, this is a can-of-worms issue.

Such naive posters! Do you really think that there are that many people recruiting diversity? Don't your realize this is just a way for employers to "weed out" the people they don't want to waste time interviewing? They can't ask you your race, ehtic background or sexual orientation-- but if you volunteer it...
There have been numerous studies where they submit identical resumes: One is supposedly from "Betty Jones" and the other is from "Propecia Green." Who do you think gets called for more interviews.
