I saw Morgan Spurlock's new film "Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden" last night and was surprised at how well is was put together. I expected there to be a lot of the camp found in "Super Size Me" -- which there was -- but it also brought around the interesting perspectives that "maybe we shouldn't hate the brown people because they're brown" and "what were we (the west) thinking?"
Yes, it had some serious left-leaning tendencies (but no where near as bad as any Michael Moore film), and yes, the ideas have been brought about in many tiny, indie documentaries, but hopefully this one will have the ability to reach a greater audience. I saw it with a friend who has a degree in Middle Eastern and African studies and she thought it was a generally fair look at what is happening in the world today.
So there's my two cents -- it's worth seeing.
