Nick Cave and Andy Serkis are involved.
Could be incredibly cool or incredibly bizarre. Or hopefully both!

I wouldn't hold my breath on this one. It seems like a bit of a joke.

I love Threepenny, but as Best12Bars said on the main board, "Who is this for?" While the answer, of course, is me, I think he makes a good point.
I also forbid them to use the Wallace Shaw adaptation. Stick with Blitzstein, or if you must, the Sams translation.
They can use the Michael Feingold translation from the Sting revival.

I thought the general consensus was that one was awful? Or was it just that the production was awful?
Blair Brown should be Mrs. Peachum! Or in a nod to La Leyna, let her be a really old Jenny!

And a-doy, I just remembered Blair Brown was in the 1976 version. I do love this story about her.
Regarding Peter Marks's article about Blair Brown ['A Surprising Third Act in an Actress's Career,' Jan 30]: I was the company manager of Joe Papp's production of 'Threepenny Opera' in 1976. Eight months into the run, Ms. Brown had long since left her role of Lucy Brown for a small role in a movie. One day, Ellen Greene, who played Jenny, called in to say she couldn't perform that evening because of laryngitis.
Mimi Turque, Ellen's understudy, was also ill with the flu. At Ellen's suggestion, Ms. Brown, who hadn't been anywhere near the production for several months, came in, and with only an hour's rehearsal was a brilliant Jenny, for one night only. It was a thrilling performance I'm glad to have witnessed.

A-double-doy, if it's motion capture age doesn't matter!
Ellen Greene for Jenny and Blair Brown for Polly!
