That is probably the most famous example.
Not movies, but here is a prime TV example.
Absolut Vodka approached the writers of Sex and the City to come up with a way of promoting their product on the successful show.
They came up with the idea of making Samatha's hunky young boyfriend the the Absolut Vodka guy. Perfect way to advertise on "commercial free" HBO.
