I agree with NCGuy that #18 might just be "The Dead".
It was released in December 1987 and Huston died earlier in August of that year. The movie is a period piece, does have an "un-christmasy" name, and does take place at a Christmas party!
I will tentatively add it to the list. So it looks like we are down to #9.

I wonder if Moviefone made a mistake and #9 should have said "early 60's" remake. I really think it sounds like BABES IN TOYLAND, other than the late 60's part.
I was just on wikipedia and read this about the 1961 "Babes in Toyland" movie:
The film was based upon Victor Herbert's popular 1903 operetta Babes in Toyland, which had been filmed in a 1934 black-and-white version by Laurel and Hardy and Hal Roach. The plot, however, bears little resemblance to the 1903 show. The Disney version contains more than twice as many songs as the Laurel and Hardy version, the lyrics are changed and some of the song tempos drastically altered.

Moviefone released #18 today, and it was indeed John Huston's The Dead.
So far, all of our answers have been correct for #24 - #18.

Excellent work!
...still questioning their choices, however.

#9 was revealed over the weekend, and it was indeed BABES IN TOYLAND (1934).
It was the Laurel and Hardy version that was later remade by Disney in 1961 (which is why I'm still perplexed since the clue said 'late 60's').
Well I guess we WERE able to solve all 24 of them!

The clue was wrong... but you were right!
"Meet Me In St. Louis" didn't make the cut... and their list is still stupid.
But the game was great, and definitely challenging!
