My mother and I were extras in a movie produced by the Moravian Church called "First Fruits". We're in the scene in the church, and then in the scene where the missionaries are sent on their journey. I was about 9 years old, and I vividly remember that one of my friends who was also in the movie fell asleep because filming went so long. There was a great picture of her sleeping in her costume in the local newspaper.
I'm in an upcoming Mark Wahlberg movie called Shooter. At least, I should be.

My dad was an extra in the campaign rally scene in Taxi Driver. He wasn't paid, and he had no idea what movie they were filming, he didn't even really realize that they were filming a movie. All he remembers is that there was this really scary looking guy standing a few feet away from him in the back.
He brings out the movie from time to time, and shows us the scene. On one side of the shot is my dad cheering, out of focus, and on the other is Robert DeNiro. It's pretty cool.
My best friend, a close friend's younger brother, and quite a few other boys I knew in my senior year of high school were students at the beginning of "Scent of A Woman."
I was supposed to be an extra in the recent "War of The Worlds," but had a family medical emergency.
