OK, so whats with this guy.I've always liked him. Not only is he cute but I also think he can act.He was set to play Aragorn in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings but was replaced after a day or two of filming with Viggo Mortensen. Now, he has been fired or replaced(depends who you ask) for creative differences. Whats with this guy?

Isn't the third possibility that Townsend left of his own accord? Of course, that would still be stupid, but whatever. IIRC, this part was supposed to go to Zachary Levi before Chuck's order got extended. Shame he couldn't stay.

Possibly, but damn,this is the second big film he has been fired/or 'left for creative difference' which sounds like code for take a hike.

Who knows. Leaving Kenneth Branagh's film of THOR (for whatever reason) could well turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to Townsend.
