Hey there,
Question.
Let's say someone is doing a recital, a tenor. it's a classical voice recital, we're talking Tosti, Satie, Schubert (Nacht und Traume, erlkonig), and Britten's Serenade for tenor, horn and strings, pretty heavy stuff.
There's room on the program for a musical theater set, songs that can stand alone, either very lyric and beautiful with a high tessitura or intensely funny.
Also considering jazz standards, but if a great musical theater set comes together, we'll go for it.
Any suggestions? This is your chance to put together THE set that you've always wanted to hear. This singer happens to have a good set of pipes for both da 'art music as well as the theater, as he's done both professionally (with a different set of names, because if theater agents hear he's done opera, they won't even bother, which is a shame).
The set should have a theme, either by composer or content. Much of the rest of the recital is dealing with dreams and death. No need to keep in with that, but if you can think of a set that's not too heavy and fits, all the better.
Thanks in advance

I don't help tenors.

Just kidding.
Maybe do a R&H set. The following songs are pretty high:
I have Dreamed
Younger than Springtime
You can do Oh, What A Beautiful Morning in a higher key
Stars
Bring him home
