Musical Theatre Song??

Posted: 4/26/06 at 8:57pm

Ok, so, I need help. I need a musical theatre song to dance to next year. I'm 12, and this year I danced to Life of the Party, and I did really good with it, so, I need a good strong one. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My friend Bianca did a really cute dance to All that Jazz for our showcase last year. She also sang while dancing. But it turned out to be really fun.

Also check out You Can't Stop the Beat from Hairspray...that's always fun to dance to!

Yeah, but here in South Carolina, YCSTB is overdone alot. I was thinking about "Let Me Dance for You" from ACL, but I was kinda wanting something Chicago/Caberet-ish, but, I dunno...

I'll be 13 next year, so I want something kinda mature, but nothing too kidish.

well if you don't want something too "kidish" you could do something from Pippin, Redhead, I can't do it alone or hot honey rag from Chicago, or Mein Herr from Cabaret, or steam heat from Pajama Game

Is it for competition? I would try to avoid all the really well-known stuff if it is.

dance.net is great for finding dance songs; they even have a musical theatre section.

"Sawyer, you're going out a youngster, but you've got to come back a star!"

I think you should do "I Can Do That" from A CHORUS LINE.
